THOUGHTS ON E-LEARNING FOR AYURVEDA

Hello and Warm Greetings from Digital Ayurveda Solutions (DAS)!

“We need to bring learning to people instead of people to learning.” – Elliot Masie

This is a new age reality regarding education, training and skill development. It is equally applicable to Ayurveda teaching and learning. As Ayurveda is an applied science, a student spending five and half years in college is expected to diagnose and treat the patients. But, ironically, due to many factors, ayurveda students lack clinical proficiency and competence when they start to practice on their own. As Ayurveda education is becoming more subject, topic oriented, the focus on wholesome thinking is taking a back seat.

“We complain that learners want to be spoonfed, but then we won’t let them hold the spoon.” – Jane Bozarth

The quote refers to the ability, approach and intention of the admitted students in current scenario. Most of the students are under prepared for Ayurveda thinking and application process. It makes them clinically less effective.

“E Learning doesn’t just happen‘! It requires careful planning and implementation.”

Considering this situation, adopting e-learning strategies seems essential. The terms like blended, adaptive and collaborative learning should be explored more and designed appropriately to suit Ayurveda learning and practice perspective.

“We don’t care what people know, we care what they do. It’s all about performance.”‖

So, to improve performance of Ayurveda doctors on the patient curing front through proper and precise knowledge sharing and training is a must. The intelligent use of all the available conventional and elearning resources will only make it happen.

DAS is stepping in to providing quality digital content and e learning and training instruments.

Happy Learning!
